Default What Should I Do With My Remaining Gold?

I currently have 45/50 on my HoM, and have now given up trying to get to 50/50. I'm just not too bothered about it really.

Anyway, the thing is I have 1,000k in my bank & 100k in my inventory. I also have 80 ectos aswell. The thing is, I now can't sell those ectos as I have no room to accept any more gold. Therefore, seeing as GW2 is literally just round the corner I've decided to just go on a spending spree but ONLY for things which I can add to my HoM. Although I'm not sure what to spend my cash on quickly.

I was thinking of just getting some expensive minipets or something, although I've never really been an avid minipet collector, so I'm not sure. But that's all I can think of really.

My Hall of Monuments link is here (X Vanchatron X) - http://hom.guildwars2.com/en/#page=m...AAAjaQIQAAAAAA

Thanks guys.

Hi. The only lacking statue that you could get relatively quickly is the eternal source of wisdom, if you just buy the unidentified rare items. Failing that, you could always just do some big giveaways or just go for getting every mini, like you already said. I personally would save the cash in case you feel like giving GW another runthrough on a secondary-of course, if you don't see that happening you may as well give the cash to people who are still trying to get HoM points-there's a big event on Saturday that you could give stuff to, maybe?

I'd say hire a speedbooker and work on those eotn rep titles.

hmmmmm,

Considering the fact that your goal is to get rewards for GW2 and to make any progress at all you need 5 more points (cause that would mean another title, points 41-44 don't change a thing). you need to farm titles.

You need 22 titles to get that. Just an advise before I start off. 22 titles for just another title is a lot of work and there is no way your going to buy it with the money you have right now.

maxing the eotn statues (speedbooking and even paying the speedbooks) would reward 3 more statues and 1 point.

You should be close to master of the north. 4th statue out of 22)
Then the 3 consumer titles (each cost bout 1200k when you have to buy all points). this would mean 7 statues out of 22 and 47/50)

Then the remaining two skillhunter titles (prolly bout 200-300k and the time invested to capture the skills) wich would add 3 more titles cause it would mean the legendairy skillhunter title (11/22 statues).

Then cause it is easy eternal defender of ascalon (get max in presearing) and legendary survivor. They both take time but it would mean 13/22 statues and 48/50)

Then the two remaining guardian titles plus the legendairy one for 16/22 statues.

The last things you can do is doing all vanguishing titles or all explorer titles, Both will bring you to 20/22 statues, meaning that form the other you only need 2.

Again. even if you buy runs, both your funds and the time isn't near enough to get you got 50/50. considering that there is no reward for e.g. 49/50 (beside the fact that it would make you feel good) my humble advise is to give up or decide to seriously play GW1 after the release of GW2. I reckon you prolly need bout 3-4 months (if you play bout 4-5 hours/day) to get to 50/50 and the last title in GW2.

Ok, buy your way to sweet tooth, drunkard, and party animal. Buy the speedbooks to max your reputation titles. Buy source of wisdom. People will sell reputation farming and mission completing as well. So there goes lux, kurz, guardian of cantha, guardian of elona, and legendary guardian.

That's 48/50. The rest will take a real time investment and actual work on your part so I'd suggest simply giving me the rest of the money.

I highlighted the ones that are easy/money consuming

You won't be able to do 50/50 without a grind

As has been said above, sweets/drunkard/party are three titles that are easily bought.
Wisdom is for the most part a bought title, but takes a lot of time. Fortune/misfortune are both easily acquired with cash on the ninerings, but those won't be there anymore before gw2 release.

You won't be able to get 50/50 anyway, so might as well spend all the money on gifts for friends... maybe help them complete their hom, or buy them a rare weapon that fits their main character or something (if you have all the eyecandy you want yourself). That's what I tend to do anyway.

I'm not worried about the last 5 points I meant, as I'm 45/50. Whereas things like minipets, armour, weapons etc I guess I wouldn't mind adding as they'll be on show in GW2.

Just play the game... What is the point of buying the titles?? That's the most sad thing I've heard in my life.

On topic: I have no idea what to do with all my gold, stacks of zkeys and sigils, I'll probably just keep them in storage.

Buy ELs, Disco Balls, Everlasting Fireworks crate and host a dance party when the world ends.

No their not. You can't see the items you added to your HoM in GW2.

So like I said having 49/50 won't change anything for you when it comes to GW2. Only getting 50/50 (wich is virtually impossible without investing a huge amount of time) will grant you another title in GW2.

Like being said your money is better spent by helping out friends or like I did buying non-HoM related things to invest in the gw1 economy. Buying HoM related stuff would mean you are taking it out of the economy for people who can actually use it and prizes go up even furter.

Ireally can't think anything except comsumable titles that you need gold for anymore. Now all there's left is playing the game. You have to invest time instead of gold for now on to get more HoM points......

Bah, well that's come as a surprise. I'm guessing I should have known better, although up until now I assumed everything you added to your HoM in GW1 would be seen in your HoM in GW2. I guess I literally have NOTHING to spend my money on then... Meh.

Where was this info released on? So far anet/ncsoft have not given out any detailed info regarding the Hall of Monuments in GW2. Nor has any of the devs that are working on both games. So please enlighten me......

Actually, I'm pretty sure that nothing has been said on that matter-I would advise you just to wait until GW2 has come out-if you can see the statues, great, if not, ah well. Of course, if you really don't have any use for the cash, I wouldn't say no to it.

The problem is player recogning in this game..Most players do not care whether you got r12 kurzick in AB or in dtsc... The same applies for gwamm : most do not care the way you got it and there's no way to prove how you did it..
Like i said last time, you get thus players flaming gold trim owners, r11 commanders, etc..

The main point of titles is to show them to others i guess( i could do these for myself, but you said this wasn't a single player game)... So, there's a little problem there..
On topic, i actually do not know how to use money neither.. I still have some stacks of zkeys/ectos, lot of unded pets, many green/gold weapons worth 15-30k, EL tonics, etc...I'm basically giving away festive items, white/purple unded pets, elite tomes and sometimes zaishen keys to people i do know..

Thing is you could get 50/50 without spending most of that cash. Buy yourself a stack or two of lock picks & head out and DO the work to get the rest of your titles. It actually looks like a lot more work than it is.

Start by finishing off your Guardian title - adds 3 more statues to your HoM.

Bookah, Delver, EVA, MotN - not hard just take a bit of time - in fact if you aim for MotN you'll have the other 3 race titles mostly finished & will require very little work to polish off. Purchase a FEW speedbookers to polish off the EotN race titles after you get MotN ... 4 titles at once.

Same goes for carto & VQ's - kill two birds with one stone & finish 8 titles at once ... skill cap along the way & you'll have 11 titles mostly finished at the same time.

Up to 18 & all you've bought is lock picks and cap sigs ... and the lock picks are only assuming your Lucky title is not yet r2 - if it is go put it in your HoM as that's all you need to add it.

If it ISN'T r2 it will be by the time you finish carto, VQ, MotN, and skill hunter - so 19 titles added PLUS you would be pretty close to r4 in either Kurzick or Luxon faction & nearly able to add to HoM ... so pretty much 20 titles to add or skip the Kurz or Lux in favor of a consumable title.

Now, people like to think this takes a really long time (like 5 months?) but it can be done before the 28th. 12 days, one grindy long weekend & maybe an hour or two the other days & those titles are very doable if you're smart about time management (heck, by some cons & make it go even faster) - if you're savvy enough to pull off survivor along the way you'll not have had to buy any consumable titles but of course they do speed up the process.

If I were you, that's how I'd do it - at least then you have the satisfaction of knowing you didn't just buy your entire way to 50/50 like many people do.

I do not understand why people log in to NOT play the game ...
